By creating an account or using Docjot, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all users of the Docjot application.
What Docjot Is
Docjot is a personal health notes and organization tool. It is designed to help you capture, store, and review information from your own doctor visits and health history.
Docjot is not a medical device, medical service, or healthcare provider. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical guidance of any kind. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
Not for Emergencies
Docjot is not intended for use in medical emergencies. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.
Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Docjot
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You may not share your account with others or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission
Recording Consent
Docjot includes a voice recording feature intended for capturing doctor visit conversations. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have obtained the legally required consent from all parties before making any recording. Recording laws vary by state, country, and jurisdiction. Docjot assumes no liability for recordings made without proper consent.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Docjot to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
- Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent AI usage limits
- Upload malicious content or interfere with the operation of the service
- Use the service on behalf of others for commercial health data collection without written permission
AI Features
Docjot uses AI to generate transcripts and answer questions about your health notes. AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions. You should always verify important health information with your healthcare provider. AI responses are for organizational and informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice.
Your Content
You own all notes, recordings, and health data you enter into Docjot. By using the service, you grant Docjot a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data.
Service Availability
We aim to keep Docjot running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service downtime, data loss, or technical errors. We recommend using the Export Data feature regularly to keep a local copy of your important notes.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Docjot and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any reliance on information captured or generated within the app for medical decisions.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Docjot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes via the app or email.
